/ Role Brief

Head of Operations & Business Strategy

The problem

Designing a kitchen today takes 1-2 hours in tools like Revit or 2020 Design. These are legacy CAD products built decades ago: slow, expensive, and hostile to anyone who isn't a trained professional. The $500B+ home renovation industry still runs on software that has not had a first-principles redesign in a generation.

What we're building

Homefig is building the world's fastest and most intuitive architectural design software. We use procedural modeling and large language models to generate spec-ready rooms populated with real-world products in seconds, not hours.

We are starting with kitchens and expanding to the entire home. The endgame is simple: any homeowner can design a beautiful, fully specified home as fast as they can think. No CAD training. No friction. Just intent into design.

The role

This is a high-ownership role for someone who thrives in ambiguity and moves fast. You'll work directly with the founder to build the commercial engine from scratch: go-to-market strategy, sales pipeline, partnerships, and the operational backbone of the company.

What success looks like

Build Homefig's first repeatable commercial motion while standing up the systems that let a product-heavy team move faster, sell more effectively, and scale with clarity.

~60s

Full kitchen design instead of the 1-2 hours common in legacy CAD.

3D

Real products, real specs, procedurally generated for production-ready outputs.

1st

Operations hire. Shape how the company sells, runs, and scales.

What you'll own

Go-to-market strategy

Define how we reach kitchen retailers, cabinet manufacturers, and eventually homeowners. Build the playbook from zero.

Sales relationships

Create and manage partnerships with manufacturers and dealer networks. Own the pipeline end to end.

Business operations

Build the operating backbone across admin, finance coordination, vendor management, and hiring.

Strategy with the founder

Help shape fundraising materials, partnership positioning, pricing models, and the long-term direction of the company.

Who you are

Startup operator

You have experience in an ops, biz-ops, or strategy role at a startup and you were exceptional at it.

Unusually fast learner

Your learning rate is unreasonably high. You get good at new domains faster than people expect.

Drawn to the built world

You care about architecture, construction, design, or manufacturing. AEC or proptech experience is a plus.

In-person builder

You're in NYC and want to build side by side with a small, intense team. This role is not remote.

High ownership by default

If something is broken, you fix it. You don't wait for perfect process or ask for permission to be useful.

Apply

build with us in brooklyn.

We're a small team with strong traction, a world-class ThreeJS engineering group, and an absurdly ambitious goal. If you want to help define how homes get designed in the next decade, we'd love to hear from you.
